[Tokyo Region] Scheduled Workflow Database Maintenance
Scheduled for Oct 18, 23:00 PDT  -  Oct 19, 00:00 PDT
On Wednesday, October 19th from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM JST (October 19th from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM UTC), we will be performing maintenance on the database underlying the Workflow component. This maintenance window is scheduled to perform essential maintenance on the underlying database to conduct scale-up operation to improve performance. The Workflow REST API will be unavailable during the downtime to avoid the unexpected impacts. The maintenance operation time is scheduled during the period of lower running workflows to minimize the impacts to customers.

Our expected total operation time is 30 minutes, but the Workflow REST API will become unreachable for only 10 minutes during the operation time. After the operation is completed, we will actively monitor our service for another 30 minutes.

# Impact

During the maintenance and recovery, customers may experience the following:

- Running workflows and scheduled sessions delay and failure

The execution of running workflows and scheduled sessions will be delayed and automatically retried after the downtime period. However, there will be failures in the workflows and sessions if they’re running longer than a few minutes during the shutting down process. It would be greatly appreciated if you check the failed workflow and re-execute after service is up, if necessary.

- Workflow REST API will be unavailable

It won’t be possible to create or update Workflow Project, CDP Master Segments, Batch Segments, API Tokens, and Predictive Scoring during the downtime period. If you face the errors during maintenance, please wait for completion of maintenance and re-execute your tasks after service is up.

- Workflow operations in Console and CLI will be unavailable

The Workflow related operations in Console and CLI will be failed during the maintenance. Once the maintenance is completed, then you will be able to do the Workflow related operations.

# Communication

Beyond this notice, we will provide updates approximately 1 hour before the beginning of the maintenance window, at the start and completion of the operation, and once the verification is complete. At that time, all systems will have returned to full functionality and the Scheduled Maintenance will be closed.
